St. John's recently joined thousands of churches across these united States in National "Back to Church Sunday." This is an initiative that invited the people of this great land back to church. It sought to reach people who once attended church, but don't any more—and invite them to return for a special Sunday. Back to Church Sunday was launched four years ago in response to a survey of 15,000 adults in the United States. Results showed a personal invitation from a family member would prompt 67 percent of Americans to visit a church, and 63 percent said an invitation from a friend or neighbor would cause them to attend a service. St. John's is a small country Church that has faithfully served our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the same house of worship since 1870. We preach Christ and the teachings of Christ with the whole Word of Almighty God as the foundation for our teaching.

We've just celebrated 142 years of God's faithfulness. We welcome you to visit with us as we continue to serve Almighty God in the power of His Spirit by His grace.  We still sing the great hymns of the faith and we welcome contemporary musicians to share their talent too. Praise and Worship of Almighty God has undergone many changes through the years, but the One true, living God has not changed. As we stand upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, and the sure foundation they provide with Christ as our cornerstone, we seek to serve Almighty God until Christ returns for His Bride.

St. John's became an independent congregation more than twenty years ago. Pastor John  began serving here in 2007 and positive things have been happening ever since.

You can benefit from getting involved at the Old Red Brick Church. If you are hungry for Bible-based, straight talk from the preacher, this is the place for you.

If you prefer rock solid hymns,  over rock & roll we've got what you want! If you want to feel like a part of the family on Sunday instead of getting lost in the crowd, then we have just what you are looking for. If you like the feel of real oak (padded) pews, then visit with us and be fed the Word of Almighty God to the renewing of your mind and feeding of your soul.

The Old Red Brick Church Services


We meet every Sunday Morning at 9:45 a.m. for a lesson from the Bible. Pastor John leads this time of study by looking at what the Bible has to say about what the Bible has to say.
   
No pre-printed man-made lessons here. We actually flip through the Bible and compare texts to gain deeper insight into what God's Word reveals about God's loving plan for humanity. We wrap up around 10:45 a.m. and spend about 15 minutes greeting each other between the Bible Study & Worship Service.
   
At 11:00 a.m., we begin our Worship service. Each week is filled with practical information that you can apply to your daily life. All visitors are welcome.

The Object of St. John's

The Object of St. John's is the glorification of God in the salvation of souls. We guide and instruct born-again believers through the teaching of God's Holy Word and the promotion of Godly worship.
   
We support the worldwide proclamation of God's saving grace expressed in the shed blood and finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary and His bodily resurrection.
   
We promote the preservation of a pure church free from apostasy and compromise, and the earnest defense of "the faith which was once delivered unto the saints," until the Lord Jesus comes again.
   
Be a part of this historical church where new things are starting to happen. Join the celebration planning group or lend a hand with the youth group. Visit us Sunday morning or Wednesday evening. Help us develop another morning or evening of praise and worship to touch and improve other people's lives.

Being and becoming like Christ

At St. John's, we focus on creating a healthy community and meaningful relationships. We are very intentional about listening to people’s needs and we willingly adapt ministry to meet their needs. We understand that felt-needs are the way people express deeper needs.

We know that Almighty God will speak profoundly through the needs of the people. Our willingness to listen to people and adapt to the Word of Almighty God moves us closer to becoming like the early church where the needs of the people were gladly met by all the members.

Our willingness to listen well helps us to meet a wide range of human needs which improves our effectiveness as God's ministers. As a result, we experience greater transformation in individual lives.

At St. John's, adapting to human needs is the forerunner to creative solutions. Our servant leaders lovingly share their time to the furthering of God's kingdom as we seek to meet the needs of the community inside and outside of the four walls of the building we serve in.

The deepest need people have is a deep inner need to fulfill their calling. The Holy Spirit of Almighty God calls each individual to the purposeful life for which they were created. As believers mature, this inner calling becomes the primary desire that propels them. By understanding and focusing on this aspect of humanity, we gain tremendous insight into comprehending and meeting the many other needs and desires people express. It is this intentional focus that helps us to minister to others as they follow Christ and serve Almighty God.

It is NOT about us. It is ALL about Almighty God!

As we seek to serve Almighty God, we learn to place our desires, our wants and our needs after His. We are created to worship and glorify Almighty God.  We use the talent and skill we possess to serve Him.

As we identify the needs of the people we serve in service to God, we seek to assist them to devote their energy, talent and time to serving Almighty God and others. This is an easy way to Love God with all of our heart, with all our soul, and with all our strength (as it is written).  It is also the fulfillment of "doing unto the least" as Christ instructed.
