One Way Youth Group is the Place to be every Thursday Evening!

Each Thursday evening at around 6:30 p.m. St. John's comes alive with young people and adults who are earnestly seeking the truth. We gather to relate with one another, share food, search the Word of Almighty God, and pray.  Sometimes we plan events and sometimes we go out into the community. Every week is different.

The 'One Way' Youth group varies in attendance. We gather each Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 8 or 8:30 p.m.

One thing enjoyed here is searching the Word of God as we play "Sword Drill" and prizes are received by those with the greatest speed in locating Scripture references.

The 'One Way' group spends time in prayer, visiting people in the community, passing out fruit bags during the holidays, praying with people in their homes and participating in community events. We are looking for local short-term mission projects as a way to serve the community.

Why 'One Way'?

The young people who attend this group chose the name 'One Way' in response to the teaching of Christ that is written in John 14:6  "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. "

We also accept what is written in Act 4:11, 12: " This is the 'STONE WHICH WAS REJECTED BY YOU BUILDERS, WHICH HAS BECOME THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE.' Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

If we accept what is written in the Word of Almighty God as truth, then we accept what Christ Jesus said. He is the Way, the "One Way" to the Father. Therefore, we seek to follow Christ and we seek to lead others to follow Christ.

We accept the narrow way as the one way to walk and we hope to guide others onto and along that narrow, one way path.

Servant Leaders

Chris Pistorius and Cara Henry volunteer to lead the youth with Pastor John in prayer, praise, song and studying the Word of Almighty God. Food is provided each week by one of several families in the church who are thrilled to be a part of this growing group of youth. Each meal is prepared and served with love and rarely do we need to put away left-overs!

We are open to having others assist with the youth as the Spirit of Almighty God leads. Do you have a passion for youth? Come out and visit with us some Thursday evening. See how God is reaching youth in Chicora at St. John's.
